ThuderThighs - Well hello there. So, I started this blog in February of 2010 in hopes to find support and lose weight. Since then I've been very up and down, met some successes and failures, and then quit for a while. Eventually, I made my way back and changed my blog a little, ok a lot, to reflect my personality more. The name ThunderThighs fits me perfectly. I've got some big legs, always have - it runs in the family. I've always been heavier, never obese or anything (well until I got pregnant of course), but never truly comfortable. One time I lost a bunch of weight and dropped down to 128, my lowest weight I can ever remember. Even then, I wasn't happy and it didn't last long. This is my journey to get back to that weight, cherish it, and keep it!
I have my degree in Elementary Education and my masters in Special Education. This year I'll be working in Science in a seventh grade inclusion classroom setting. Don't get me wrong, I love teaching, I love kids and I love my job, but most days I come home stressed and exhausted. There is a LOT of pressure on us teachers, and the age group I work with is especially challenging.
Hubby - Obviously my wonderful husband. He's perfect in every way, I'm not even kidding. I get irritated with him sometimes and we've definitely had our rough patches, but I thank God everyday for putting him in my life. I don't know what I did to deserve him, either. We've been married since April 2009, and we were together for five years before that. If you've read anything I've posted in the past about him or his daughters, you'd probably be able to piece together the fact that he must be older than me. Yes, he is. He was born in 1966, I was born in 1985. I'll give you a second to do the math............ ok I'll just do it for you - 19 years. He's 19 years older than me. Stop right there - there's nothing you can say that we haven't heard before. We get all kinds of reactions, from ewww he's a pervert to I must have daddy issues to age ain't nothing but a number. It hasn't changed our relationship, only made us stronger. Besides, he's my sugar daddy (don't judge me, lol).
Amby - My oldest stepdaughter. She's smart, she's beautiful, she's responsible, she's independent. She's also only eight years younger than me. She is best friends with my stepsister, who is the same age as her, and would technically be her aunt. And you thought YOUR family was messed up.
Twig - My youngest stepdaughter and partner in crime. We definitely have our adventures together and connect in a way only blondes can.
Mikey - My son! Born May 25th, 2012 at 7 pounds 2 ounces and 20 inches long. He's the love of my life! I wouldn't trade him for the world (at least on most days).
I'm truly lucky to have the stepchildren I have. As you can imagine, it took some getting used to on both sides, but they are the absolute best kids anyone could hope for. Though my hubby is a wonderful dad, I attribute most of their great qualities to their mother, as hard as that is to do. If it were up to my hubby, the kids would have absolutely no rules or discipline - typical man.
Well, there they are - my immediate fam. There's also my mom, stepdad, his two daughters, my biological sister, my dad, stepmom and her daughter (the one that is best friends with Amby) and son. I love my family and would do anything for any of them.
Thanks for hanging around. Happy reading!
